Driver ball flight

Question
I have been playing the HSS for several years with excellent results, but now my drives off the tee are flying too low.  I'm striking the ball hard and get good direction (straight, no hook or slice) and roll but not nearly enough carry.  I'm playing a 12 degree driver! My irons get good height.  My hybrids, woods and driver are the problem. HELP!

Answer
Tony,

Since the ball flight issue is only with certain clubs I'd check ball position and set up as the most likely culprits.  Make sure the ball is being played off a point even with your left heel (if you are right handed) or just inside your left heel.  Also, check the wear marks on the face of the clubs you're hitting too low.  If the wear marks are low on the clubface, it means you are hitting the ball after the club is on the way back up.  You are "thinning" the shots.  If this is the case, you've probably got your weight too far toward your right foot.  In other words, you are staying behind the ball too far.  Being behind the ball at impact is a good thing but being too far behind it can cause this problem.

I wish you good luck!

Sincerely,
