QuestionMy daughter is 8 years old. She's very athletic, natural gymnast and loves the water. She wants to take diving lessons. We are in Los Altos, Ca but because I have three children I am looking for convenience. Do you know if Stanford or Deanza college has diving lessons? I've tried looking at their websites and I can't seem to find any inforamtion.

I am originally from the area you live and have coached at both Stanford and De Anza. I do not think De Anza will have a program for someone your daughters age but Stanford will.There is no website for the Stanford Diving age group program which is why you could not find any info. Contact Ryan Wallace. He is one of the age group coaches at Stanford and can put you in touch with the lesson coach. Ryan used to be one of my divers when I worked for De Anza. His e-mail is
[email protected]. Tell him I gave you his contact info and I am sure he will respond. Or you can also just drop by the pool at Stanford on a weekday after school.It is where football, baseball and basketball are all located. You can't miss it as it is one of the largest outdoor aquatic facilities in the world.
