backstroke to breaststoke IM turn

Question
Dear George

I 'll like to know when doing the backstroke to breastsroke turn in IM, how do you go about it? It seems there are a few types ie open turn, flip turn etc. Is the flip turn sort of reverse tumble turn? It's said that you may not have enough air after the so called flip turn.Which one is recommended?

Thank you. Your reply is very much appreciated.

Truly

Eddie

Answer
Eddie--
Yes, there are numerous ways to turn from back to breast, and I can't say which is best.  It's a personal preference.  Since the rules allow a swimmer to roll onto their stomach going into the turn, that is the quicker turn, but it is possible to have issues with the air for the pull out.  Whichever turn is quicker for you is the one you should use.  Take into consideration the air issue and use what works best.
Hope this helps,
George
