3 yr old - loves water, hates lessons...

My 3 year old just started her first lessons this week (Mon.) and LOVED the first day. She loves the water in general - will put her face in, blow bubbles, do her 'scoops' etc. Then, yesterday (Day 2 of lessons) refused to get in the water for the lesson. Screamed, pouted, ignored all human contact. The instructor tried taking her in but she fought it the whole time, screaming bloody murder. Today we didn't even get that far. I've tried bribing her with special things, threatening to take other things away, getting in the water with her, nothing. Any suggestions? She has 5 lessons left in the session - tomorrow, and next M-Th...Her older brother has done fabulously with his lessons, and is in the class next to her in the pool but that has made no impact...I'd appreciate any input! The instructor (who is very sweet) is willing to take her in (screaming and all) but I don't know if that will only make it worse...

Since it is paid for I would allow her to sit on the side until she chooses to join. Threatening to take stuff away may make her feel like she has to do something she is uncomfortable with doing. It is not unusual for preschool children to enjoy something one year and absolutely loathe it the next. Perhaps she will be better by the 4th year. Good luck. I wish I had a better answer.
