Question
Hi and thanks for taking my question. I have worn out and injured my legs because I used to run
frequently for cardio workouts. Now I can't even run at all so I decided to start swimming
because it is low impact. Well, I have been trying to teach myself how to do the front crawl
technique but I can barely get to the other side of the pool (we have an olympic sized pool)
without being exhausted. I am in good cardiovascular shape but I have been trying for about two
weeks now to improve my endurance in the water and it is not working. Do you have any
suggestions for an absolute beginner on how to improve technique or any websites that might
help? Or is it just that I am not keeping with it long enough and it takes a very long time to build
up endurance? Thank you.

Answer
Gennady--
Keep on trying.  It takes a while to adjust to a swimming regimen as opposed to running.  It's an adjustment to not have your face in the water.  Keep working on the fundamental stroke also.  Don't be afraid to ask any lifeguards or coaches for advise on fixing your stroke, it's hard to do on your own.
Sorry this took so long,
George
