Question
How does one keep water out of the nose when flip turning and surface diving?  I blow air through my nose but still get water in my sinuses.

Answer
hi Sharron,
Well it takes some getting use to but it is as simple as blowing air out of your nose. When your head is upright you already have air in your sinuses so water cannot come in, so when swimming toward the wall take a side breathe and then lead into your flip turn with your strongest arm, as soon as your body begins to circle continuously blow air out your nose until the turn is complete. If done properly you should not have water in your sinuses and you should not be out of air. All you need is a small continuous stream of air during the entire turn. The same thing goes with surface diving, a small stream of air should keep water out.. just practice and do not get discouraged, it still happens to the prose every so often. Hope this help!
