Finning

Question
I am teaching swim lessons at our pool.  What of the objectives is understand the method of finning.  I believe it something to with keeping the feet together and kicking but not sure.

All Experts says that this question is still pending.  I thought that I had replied to this already.  I truly do not know what finning is.  I did ask around with other coaches in this area.  Nobody knew exactly what is was.  We came up with ideas, but we didn't know exactly.  I am sorry that I couldn't be more help.  Whoever came up with this phrase (finning) either is starting something new or does not fall within the accepted swimming instruction techniques.

I would like to know about who wrote these objectives.  What is the organization that you are teaching under (YMCA, Swim America, etc)?  This may help out.  It's a very interesting question.
