Question
I'm a 17 junior going to become a senior next year. And all my freinds want me to wrestle. I was thinking of transfering to another state to join a intense MMA gym to take there wrestle classes. Still attending school. I can also take Brizilian jujutsu to help me maybe. After a year, come back to my old school and join the team on time. Do you think one year can cover my past years of doing nothing. I would love to start and who knows try to aim for state.

Answer
there are a lot of wrestling-like things you can take up to help you. wrestling is the only one that i have done myself. but what i've heard from those that i've talked with in mma, is that wrestling gives you an all around understanding of all the concepts you will come across in mma. with exception to the striking aspect. i can't say that one will help you over another, unfortunately, but i feel as do others that i know say that wrestling helped them transition into the world or mma. i hope that this has helped and good luck!
