Indy Pay Roll.

I always wondered, since ROH is like the top indy promotion in the u.s.(i think) and ive always heard that u cant make a living without a second job on the indy, is that the situation with ROH?
I always assumed that austin aries is getting paid pretty desecently. well i guess what im asking is what promotions pay the most?

Well, ROH has their talent under contract, so they are guaranteed money. Also, they get more money for TV spots aswell. The champions make more while they are holding the title too. Also, if you work there many other promotions in the North America and overseas ask you to come in and wrestle too. I know NJPW likes to get some ROH guys in for a few matches and pay them pretty well.

Now, the ones here in America pay their guys(depending on how well known and how much money they make)a good $100 a match, plus gas. But that is only if you are well known in the state, sometimes it is far less per match. But again, it depends on the promotion.

You won't see guys like Austin Aries working at McDonald's or the Sizzler up the street, he is going to be wrestling somewhere. But he is a very well known name, so he can do that. Most of the guys who go promotion to promotion don't make great money most of the time, and have to work a second job. They wrestle on the weekends usually.

I know when Matt and Jeff Hardy were coming up, they wrestled on the weekends, but had a second job during the week. They only did that for a small time, because they were so good that the WWE and others took notice pretty quick and had them come in and wrestle, and they payed them well, so they didn't have to work a second job.

ROH probably pays the most as far as Indy promotions in the US. But Mexico pays their guys well too, especially AAA and CMLL guys. But they don't pay much in American dollars, as the paco is less than the dollar. Japanese, the UK, and Chinese promotions pay pretty nice. Everyone in Indy wrestling loves to go to Japan because of the pay and notoriety it can bring.

It depends of course on how good you are to know if you can make a living doing this
