Solar Pool Blankets Extend Your Swimming Season

You have your swimming pool filter, heater, and even some flotation devices for the kids. However, don't overlook a solar swimming pool blanket, which makes the time spent in the pool more enjoyable by warming up the water. Solar blankets are ideal for people who like going swimming often, as they allow you to keep the swimming pool in use for a longer period of time every year.

A solar blanket hangs over the pool and traps heat from the sun, so you are able to warm up the water without a swimming pool heater. You can even spend time in the pool in the fall as the sun will keep the water at a pleasant degree of warmth. One more benefit of these products is that they are likely to be much more affordable than an electric heating system.

There are several different types of blankets available for swimming pools, but the highest quality ones are produced from resin, a highly water resistant material. The blanket will feature little pouches that are designed to trap dirt and pollutants that could otherwise end up in the swimming pool.

You can also purchase solar blankets that contain a layer of aluminum. The air pouches found in this style of cover are diamond-shaped instead of the round ones found in most of the others. Consequently, the heat retention process is quicker and more effective.

If you have a smaller swimming pool, you may want to consider investing in solar sun rings. They are not as big as solar pool blankets, and you may want to get more than one for optimal results. They're a terrific supplement to your swimming pool's installed heating system.
