Swimming pool maintenance is imperative if you have a pool. 燭his will help ensure that the water is always clean and ready to be used.

To have a pool at home is truly a pride and a source of utmost enjoyment. 燳ou can simply dive into the water for your daily workout. If you would like to cool yourself off during a hot humid day, your pool is just within your property. You can also host a party in your pool area. 燞owever, this enjoyment and usefulness that a pool can offer also comes with certain responsibilities. You need to implement proper swimming pool maintenance so that it will remain in pristine condition. Below are some helpful guidelines that will help in maintaining the pool. 燩ool Chemistry CheckChecking the chemistry inside the pool should be done up to three times in a week on summer days; once a week on winter days. The pH level must be 7.2-7.8. The alkalinity should be 80-120ppm; calcium hardness is 240-450 ppm and so much more. The pH level can be adjusted with muriatic acid, but you should not add over one pint at a single application. 燳ou need to re-test as you deem necessary. Temperature is another chemical component to watch out for. 燚uring summer in hot places, water chemistry must be checked more often so that the clarity of the pool water may be maintained. Maintenance is a necessity if you want the pool to be always ready whenever anyone in the household wants to go for a swim.燚ebris Skimming/Basket CleaningThe pool can be easily and quickly cleaned by manually skimming out debris from the pool surface. Floating dirt can sink after sometime and once it does, it will become harder to clean the pool. 燞and or leaf skimmers are long-handled nets that can be used. Skimming can help boost the circulation of the pool. It also helps reduce the amount of chlorine needed to be added to the pool. 燭hese similar benefits also apply if you will also clean strainer baskets once each week. 燩ump CleaningLint pot and hair should be removed from the pump, typically every two weeks. You may also perform pump cleaning as often as you need. 燘efore cleaning, make sure that the pump has already been turned off.燱ater LevelMonitoring and checking of the pool water level must be done a minimum of once a month. 燳ou can also adjust as often as needed. 燭his level must be in the center of a skimmer or tile.燙hlorinator AdjustmentsProper adjustments must be implemented on your chlorinator by checking it once every week. 燱hile checking for chlorine readings, check also the flow in your pool. 燜ilter CleaningFilters must be cleansed especially after a heavy rain or storm. 營deally, cleaning of filters must be done once every 4-6 months, according to the pool's condition. Dirty filters must be soaked in a solution of 10% muriatic acid or Trisodium Phospate solution. Rubber trash bin should be used. You also need to wear protective gears like goggles and gloves. Remember that in making acid solution, acid should be added to water; instead of water added to acid. After soaking, make sure you rinse thoroughly and allow the filter to dry completely.
