How To Create Your Own Water Tube Slide

2016/7/21 15:03:41

Before you start off with the entire water tube slide project, you have to make sure that you were able to organize all the tools and materials that you will need for the task. This organization phase is also a good opportunity to plan out all the steps that you need to perform. Adequately planning the steps and acquiring all the tools and materials needed will help you save a significant amount of time. Also, this can help you easily track your progress as you proceed with the steps to complete the structure of the slide.

Cutting Phase

As soon as you were able to acquire all of the materials, you have to cut the tubes into more manageable pieces. Specifically, you have to cut them into the dimensions that you have specified in the planning and the organizing phase. If necessary, you are also advised to appropriately mark the tubes where they are supposed to go during the assembly phase. That way, you will not have a hard time tracing the components that you will need as you put the pieces back together.

In cutting the tubes for the main structure of the water tube slide, you have to use a saw that is especially designed for PVC pipes. This is because an ordinary saw can cause the surface of the tubes to appear jagged. This can directly affect the degree of adherence that the tubes can have during the assembly phase.

Assembly Phase

The series of steps that will follow requires you to have accuracy to ensure correct fitting of the slide components. To attach the tubes to the ladder, you have to use the bolts and the bolt gun. You may also use the screws to firmly secure the components in place.

Aside from the main components of the water tube slide, you also need to attach the reinforcing materials. Because most of the materials that you will use will include steel and other types of metal alloys, you have to make use of a post digger to ensure that these structures will stay in place. You have to use this tool to create adequate amount of space for the steel poles and the flanges. Aside from ensuring stability for these supports, the spaces that will be created by the post digger will promote ease in the placement of the structures. If you are able to construct the entire form well, you can prevent the collapse of the finished product.

Finishing Touches

As soon as the main structure has been constructed, you should drill a hole through the slide, so you can readily place the water hose through it. The water hose will be used to promote a slippery texture for the interior of the slide. To further enhance the slippery quality of the slide, you may use a sander to smooth out the uneven edges of the entire length of the tube. You should make sure that you will do this more than once to increase the effectiveness of the procedure. You may also add decorations on the exterior of the slide for an added appeal.
