- Spandex: Also known as elastane, spandex is very flexible and resistant to wear.

- Polyamide: It provides durability, resistance to sunlight and chlorine.

- Lycra: In many cases it's blended with polyamide as a result of their excellent elasticity without sagging.

- Polyester: Often blended with other fibres that increase durability and comfort as it resists stretching, wrinkling and abrasion with great colorfastness, it dries quickly but it's less breathable

- **Cotton:* While it's breathable and absorbent but it dries slowly

- **Wool:* Very warm but tends to wrinkle easily and takes considerable time to dry.
