Beaverkill rod

Question
I have a Beavorkill split cane three piece rod about 9 feet long.
Horrocks Ibbotson. Bought by a man, probably in the 1930's or 40's
but obviously never used. Does it have any value except sentimental?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi John,

The Beaverkill model was made from the 1930s-1950s by H-I.  It was one of their lower priced models falling about the upper end of the lower third of their pricing structure.  It sold originally in the $5.75-$9.00 range depending in which decade it was made.

Current value of this rod in Mint condition would be in the $150-$175 range.

Thanks,  Joe
