Metabolism

Question
does swimming speed up your metabolism and help you to lose weight?

Answer
Hi Jenna! It's Lanny. Yes swimming like most sports that use the large muscle groups will certainly raise you metabolism. Your best bet is to swim for at least 20-30 minutes continously. If you aren't in shape for that just break it up but do a few "hard lengths" mixed up with the easier ones. Also, doing some kicking only lengths can help because you use your legs only which are larger muscle groups than your arms... have a great day!...Lanny Schaffer...
