goalie question about butterfly

2016/7/16 9:38:24

Question
Hi I am 15 years old (almost 16), about 5'9 with 32" goalie pads. I can never quite get a closed off 5 hole in my butterfly. What can I do to change that and how can i also widen my butterfly? thanks!

Answer
Hi Leor

There is no easy way to answer this. Your pads may be the problem as to why you cannot close the gap. Also, remember, the wider your stance the longer and harder it becomes to snap your legs shut in time.

When in the butterfly, make sure you are not sitting on your skates or leaning back. Make sure you are upright and gloves forward slightly and stick is flat infront of gap.
