Question
what dryland workouts/drills should i work on/focus on to strengthen my breaststroke? I'm trying to shave a lot of time off my 100 this year (and 200) so i was just wondering if there were any drills and strength exercises and conditioning workouts i should focus on the most. also, are there drills that work on the coordination of the stroke (like the kick and pull coordination) thanks.

Answer
Jenny--
As long as you are training the way your coach specifies and you are pushing yourself as hard as you can, there really shouldn't need any extra drills.
As for your stroke drills, remember that your kick and pull should not happen at the same time, there should be a short pause at the end of each stroke.  Start with this:  arms, legs, glide for a 3 count for 1 lap, then arms, legs, glide 2 count 1 lap, then arms, legs, glide 1 count, and repeat the whole drill.  The 1 count lap is pretty close to the timing you want when you race.  Also you want to work on keeping your kick just a little wider than your shoulders.
Hope this helps,
George
