Pool Rules: One or Two Shots on the Black Ball?

In most variations of pool, a player can only take one shot on the black ball. If they miss the black, they lose the game.

However, there are some variations of pool where a player can take two shots on the black. One such variation is called "blackball." In blackball, if the player misses their first shot on the black ball, they can take a second shot if the cue ball is still on the table. If they miss the second shot, they lose the game.
