Question
Other than the first bike i bought along time ago i haven't ridden for a while, and was wondering what type of bike i should get, i had my eye on a Trek 3700 08' model for $320 it is a hardtail ATB Bike. but im not sure if its the one i want for sure; I was originally trying to find a bicycle that could handle small jumps, easy to medium trails and a good commuter bike as well. Please let me know if you find or know any bikes like this that aren't over $1000 dollars thanks allot - Jason

The Trek 3700 is an excellent choice.

You should be able to find many choices for under 1000.00. I purchased a 1 year old Giant OCR2 with Computer for only 800.00 and have seen Numerous bikes in your price range at the Local Cycle World Shop. Of course that would not fit whatyou want but you can always check to see if there  are any used bikes at your local shop if money is tight. I also found a nice Specialized Expedition for 100.00 on Ebay then 60.00 shipping.

I really think you will be very happy with the 3700.
