Hello Justin,

Really I don't mind about giving measurements in lbs, stones, inches or feet. Only were I live we aren't that familiar with these sizes. That's all.

Further it is difficult to tell you what to choose!

If you want a good bike than you buy a more expensive bike.
Think about twice your budget where you can buy a nice bike for.

But also with this budget you can take a look for a Trek, Giant or a Specialized.
Check the websites from www.trek.com/giantbicycles.com of specialized.com

Mechanical discbrakes I can't you recommand these.
Take a full hydraulic disc or a Magura rimbrakesystem, like a HS22 or a raceproven version like the HS33.
The HS22 is enough for commuting and trails for fitnessbiking.

Aluminum is a good choice, but steel is also good. But heavier in the category budget.

If you buy a bike from those brands you will buy a nice and good bike.
I think you should look for a 19" size, depending of the length of your legs.

I hope that I could help you with these answers, and again, when you need more info ask me later.

Thanks.

Michael
Dear Michael,

hi its me Justin Again,

Yeah im kind of very concern with budget contstraints. Would it be a good idea if i bought a second hand bike had one in mind a 19' Avanti hammer 2004 model and upgrade it with high grade 2nd hand parts like marzocchi shocks and hydraulic brakes.
Avanti is i think it an Australian or New Zealand brand thier pretty good.

Kind Regards

Justin

Answer
Hello Justin (again),

The most of the times here you can find nice bikes secondhand.
And therefor you will receive a nice good frame or other parts.
Remember that you the best basic is your frame, you can't exchange this easy.
The other parts like brakes, deraileurs/shifters you can change more easily.
I don't know the Avanti history in bikebuilding.
I do know for example BT (bike technology).
But when you'r thinking that the bike is right for you, who am I to misjudge that without seeing of knowing this petticular bike?
Further I can advise you to go to some other bikeshop near you where you can see if they possibly have more used bikes.
Or see @ Ebay.

I hope that this will forfill your needs, if not I wait for your mail again.

Kind regards,

Michael
