biking Q

Question
George,
Not sure if this is your area but here goes.....I want to incorporate riding my bike into a fitness program because I am very overweight. But, I want to maximize my time on the bike for maximum benefit. Is there something specific you could recommend? I am guessing riding at 8mph around the block for a few miles is not going to burn much fat. What do I need to do to burn my butt off?
Thanks
Rich

Answer
Hello Rich,

I would ride first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. You DOUBLE your calorie burning this way as your body has no source of fuel so it taps in the fat supply. It will also raise your metabolism for the day. Eat breakfast (some fruit would be great) 1/2 hour after your done riding.

Secondly I would ride at whatever speed but in the Granny gear(smallest gear in the front) so that you are constantly pedding at a quicker pace.

Third drink ICE WATER at least 8 times a day. In order for your body to digest it need to warm up the water (Another metabolism burning trick) and in order to warm up the water it uses calories (stored fat).

Hope this helped you out, dont forget to rate me please :)

Thanks Rich and good luck!
