OMC 7.4L King Cobra Reverse Gear Issue - Troubleshooting & Help

Just had the gimbal bearing and u-joints replaced. Now will not go into reverse. Porp will rotate like it is in reverse but when you give it gas the engine reeves up. Dealer  who did the work said it not his problem and will not fix the reverse problem. HELP.

I'm not a mechanic, but it sounds like there could be a wiring and/or cable problem. I get the impression the repairing DEALER may not be very reputable, and suggest you select another source based on a good reputation.
