Trim

2016/7/15 18:31:38

Question
Hi Ron, I have a 1989 Rinker 186 captiva with a 4.3 v6. I have seen these fins that people mount on the out drive to give them faster trim. Do they work and what are the called? Thank you in advance, Jer.

Answer
Hi Jerry

Thanks for selecting the undersigned to respond to your question.

Off hand I can't recall what most of the manufacturers call the fin. But yes, it does work and gets a boat up on a plane much earlier, which in turn may save fuel. They're not expensive, and easy to install.
