Horse race handicapping re:track variant

Question
Michael, it's been about a year since my last question on HCPing. What is your opinion on using the racing form track variant in regards to adjusting the running time of the race. Also, can you give me your feelings on the Beyer Ratings in which I have found many descreptancies. Unfortunately a high Beyer No. generaly means an underlay of the entrants chances. I am very concerned on how you would go about the track variant. Thank you
Frank

Answer
Hello Frank, yes it has been a long time i am in  complete agreement with you on the beyer ratings. i don't use them I do use the track varient i feel it is a very important tie breaker.also when you use the track varient keep in mind avg speed and avg weight carried for the distance, i plan to return to the race track after the winter thaw.i hope this finds you in good health. To me the beyer ratings are worthless they are used by novices.who don't know any better.best of luck to you in the coming new year.may you have health and wealth.
