Secretariat Replica Towel: Number & Color Accuracy for Halloween Costume

Hi I am a proud owner of an Off The Track Thoroughbred that is a grandson of Secretariat. I am outfitting him as Secretariat for our Halloween party. I am using the 1973 Derby win as my model to copy and I have found a few things, blinkers, etc.  that will work. My questions is, his towel looks black in that race and the number is 1A. Does that number  correspond with black? I want to be as accurate as possible. Will I have to have one custom made..or could I find a replica? Any idea??  Thank you...

The saddle towel was indeed black, and he ran as the number 1A.  I don't know where you could find a replica, but you could just go down to the local tack store, buy a black saddle towel, and sew the number on yourself.  If your tack store doesn't have saddle towels, just buy a large square of black cotton, and go from there.
