The Alchemy

Question
Hi Stephanie,
My name is Mandy Morningstar.  I went to school at Kentucky Equine Institute in Lexington, KY. years ago. While I was there I was fortunate enough to spend some time on a beautiful farm called the Alchemy.  Seversl years later the Alchemy sign was gone and I assumed things had changed on the farm.  Anyway I was just thinking back and hoped maybe your farm was possibly the same one. I wouldlove to hear if it is, if nt I'm sorry to have bothered you.
Thanks,
Mandy

Answer

No, we're not the same people.  My husband is from Kentucky, and he remembers The Alchemy fondly as well.

When we opened our farm, we just liked the idea behind the word alchemy.  Turning something of little value into something of greater value, as if by magic. (originally, of course, the idea meant turning lead into gold)
We thought that the idea could also be applied to taking young stock and turning them into great racehorses.  So, since the name was available, we used it.
