Question
Hi, I've been running for a few weeks now, 3km a day on running machine at home. Suddenly felt a sharp pain in my heel, carried on running antil i finished my 3k. The following day i attempted to run within 10 mins of doing so, i felt the sharp pains in my left heel again, and now can hardly walk on my foot.
When i do try to walk, sharp pain is in my heel and around my ankle, when i touch the sides of my ankles towards the heel it is really painfull, and also around the front of my foot i feel numbness and a tingerly feeling. It's been 1 week since this happened. Any ideas ? does my foot and ankle need a hospital visit?
Be appreciated for any info

Thk you

Answer
Sounds like you might have some issues with heel spurs, very common, getting back into running injury. This is treated well with ice and stretching of the area, as well as time off. You have to be able to able to get comfortable coming back slowly, the injury will heal and you will be able to keep running, so do remember that.

If your symptoms worsen, might be useful to see a doctor, as they would be able to properly diagnose you.
