Answer
People have jogged on roads for years and with some caution, it can be alright for jogging on.  The major issues that arise come from running too long on that kind of road on the same side, which causes an uneven surface to continually run on (such as running on the right side of the road the entire time).  One way to avoid that is by running on one side, such as the right side going out, and the left side returning (basically turn around on that same side of the road).  The road itself isn't the main issue for danger, its the traffic you need to watch out for, as well as keeping your own body well-tuned for exercise (proper warm-up, recovery).
