Increasing Stamina

2016/7/22 10:12:34

Question
Hey, I work out a lot at the gym, but I'm looking to run more to get into better shape. Problem is my stamina, I think. I've played football, but we never ran all that much at one time. After about a mile, I'm done. Doesn't help that I smoked the last couple years (quit about a month ago). Any suggestions on helping me last longer? Maybe five miles? I don't know. What are some reasonable goals, short-term and long-term? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tim
Short term, work your way up to an easy 30 minute jog 3 days a week.Long term 45 minutes 4 days a week with 1 run of 1hr 20 minutes on the 5th day.If you can confortbly get up to these numbers your there tim.Be patient and maintain your focus and let the workouts come to you.It is that simple.Let me know if you have any questions.

The very best

John
