Running w/ Heart Rate Monitor

Question
Hey John.  I'm a 23 year old outdoors athlete.  I am a cyclist, both on road and off-road, a climber and a hiker.  My question is in August I am planning on climbing Mount Rainier.  Ive begun a good strong training regiment this week.  I just started wearing a polar HR monitor to really make sure i has getting in the zone.  Now i have to tell you I hate running.  It just isn't fun for me.  Last night i was supposed to go out according to my training program and maintain a HR of 137-157 bmp for 28min.  Not a problem I though, but what i found out was at that rate it was a quick walk, and I just thinking that i should be able to at least jog at that heart rate.  What are you thoughts?

Answer
Sure, that didn't require you to run, it was a pretty low heart rate. But be sure you are being flexible with that schedule. It isn't god, you know. Your body is god. It is what you need to look at to see how you need to train better. I wonder why the schedule had you jog that day? Jogging really does tweak your bodies efficiency, remember that. It can be a great help to your training.
