calf mussle tightness

Question
I just started running It's taken me 2 weeks just to be able to run a full mile.  What keeps holding me back is my calf mussels.  After I run just my calf mussels hurts.  Every step feels like the calf mussel is about to explode.  Then they just stay sore.  Just to stretch or bend down at the knees to touch the ground is painfully.   Is there anything I can do to help make it better?

Answer
Hi Jeana
When just starting out it takes time for the musculature to adapt. When you start out after 5 minutes stop and stretch your calf for a couple of minutes and also when you finish. You can ice them also after your run. Also start taking 500mg vit c with your 3 meals a day to enhance recovery of tendons, tissues.Any other questions just get in touch.

All the best
