running/weight loss

Question
I've recently started running seriously about a month ago. My issue is this... I've been at a plateau weight for about probably 6 months (regardless of exercise)and since i've been running 5 days a week about 3 miles each time- i've gained nearly 5 lbs and it's seriously freaking me out. I already know that muscle weighs more than fat and that's what's taking place right now because seriously my quads are starting to bulk up a bit and i notice a change in the fit of my pants. I want to lose atleast 10 lbs but i'm gaining and i want to know when you actually START losing weight. I seriously have cut my calorie intake down to like 800-1000 per day i'm so seroius about it. I just want to be at my prime enjoyable weight so that i can mentally and physically be satisfied for once!

Is running an overall body workout? Would i be able to get away with just jogging and the upper half of my body fat just melt away vs. lifting weights and such, i hate upper body work but love bicycling/running/rollerblading.....?

Please answer my questions to the best of your knowledge for it's seroiusly taken it's toll on me cause my body just doesn't seem to want to lose that weight!

Answer
Dear Darcie
I need more info on your diet height weight age and what was your exercise program previous to your running program you started one month ago.

Here is what I would suggest darcie. The number of questions you have related to your situation requires a real in depth discussion on what you need to do to get this under control.Since my typing skills are limited i wiil do the best i can but if you want to expedite the situation you can call me and i can cover it in detail.

I know you would get more out of it and understand it better if we talked....There would be no charge for the time we spend on the phone. You can go to my webb site and it has my contact information. The girl on my weight mangement link was a nine week result.

The very best to you
John
