Rock Climbing

I am a thirty-six year old stroke survivor. I was a NYC paramedic and about to start medical school before my stroke.

Currently I organize outdoor activities for people with disabilities (amputees, MS, stroke, etc). I have aphasia and need help communicating. My friend Robin is helping me. I want to help people with different disabilities experience outdoor sports such as horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing, snowboarding etc. Please let me know if your organization, or any other organization you know of, would be interested in participating with me. I'm afraid I am not currently working at a climbing gym.  However, all of the gyms I have worked with or visited have been open to working with people with disabilities.  In what area of the country do you live?  Maybe I can help you find a gym near you.  In my experience, Climbing magazine's website has a good list of climbing gyms by state.  Their website is http://www.climbing.com/
