Armorican Fold Mountains: Location, Formation & Geology

The Armorican Fold Mountains, also known as the Armorican Massif, are located in western France. The mountains were formed by the collision of the African and Eurasian plates, which caused the Earth's crust to buckle and fold. The mountains are also home to a number of mineral deposits, including iron, lead, and zinc.
