Question
Hi, i'm a 5'8 sophmore in highschool, and i weigh around 153 pounds. I just pulled a 21:46 for a 6k erg test, and my lightweight double partner pulled a 21:55. Our 2k's are both around 6:50, but how much faster do we need to be to qualify for  youth nationals in the lwt2x? Btw we row in the southwest region.

Answer
Hi Jef: Both you and your partner are pulling great erg scores for the 2K and 6K.  Your times are in the Top 10% for lightweight men between ages 15 and 16.

Your question is kind of vague.  Qualifying for the Youth Nationals is not based on erg scores.  You will have to qualify by doing well on the water at the Southwest Junior District Championships, which will be held will be held May 7-8 at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

Good Luck/AP
