Flyweight 2k

Question
I use to row and was thinking about it again. What is a good 2k time for a flyweight rower that is about 5 foot 2?

Answer
Hi Kelley: First of all, there technically is no flyweight category.  In ergometer competition, women rowers are either lightweight (under 135 pounds) or heavyweight.

I'm happy that you are considering a comeback.  What I don't know is how long ago did you row (i.e., how old are you?).  This is a key piece of info to determine what a target time for you is.  If you are in your 20s, you want to row 8:30 or better to be in the upper half.  In your 30 or over, 9 minutes or lower is an above-average time.

Hope That Helps/AP
