Question
I am a Scuba Diver, I'm on the path to becoming an instructor and am Rescue
Diver qualified so far. When i go to the beach i would like to stay underwater
for a few minutes and am looking for a mini tank, maybe one that doesn't
require a regulator.
Any information would be grateful

many thanks

Answer
Hi,

You can stay under water for a minute or two at a time with a mask and snorkel.  I know of no other better way to enjoy the beach.  It's good for your training too.

All air cylinders will require a regulator (either a traditionally attached model, or an integrated one, like used by SpareAir).

Also, if you are breathing from a cylinder (a small one will empty very quickly), you'll likely need some form of ballast to stay down, so you are complicating what you can best do without any gear at all beyond the simple snorkel and mask.

have fun,
James
