scuba class

hi i am going to be going to africa to volunteer for whale watching etc., and we will be doing some scuba diving so i need to learn how to do it before i go there. and i was just wondering if there are any good scuba diving schools in alberta, canada preferrably in edmonton.
if you could get back to me as soon as possible that would be great.

Wow, that sounds like a fantastic experience.  I hope you enjoy it greatly!

While I cannot directly vouch for any particular dive shop in Alberta, I can direct you to two web sites where you can easily look up contact information.

www.padi.com  and www.ssiusa.com both have a link that allows you to do dealer searches.  I found dealers in Calgary and Edmonton.  I'd recommend contacting a few of them and discussing your needs.  They can help tailor a training program that will best suit your requirements (timing, diving conditions, etc.).  

Another alternative is to think about learning how to dive once you get to Africa in a location near where you will be doing the whale watching.  They would be able to help prepare you even more for the diving conditions there.  At any rate, be sure to contact a local dive shop once in Africa as they can help provide additional training or knowledge that may be needed for the conditions there.
