16 gauge Hercules single shotgun

Question
I am trying to date & price a Hercules 16 gauge shot gun . It is a single shot with a break action. I cannot find a serial number on but perhaps I don't know where to look.

Answer
Hello Ramona.
Your Hercules shotgun was manufactured for Montgomery Wards by Harrington & Richardson before 1940. It was the H&R Model Topper. Price is relevant to condition. They were made to hunt with and they are of good quality. Although there is no collectors value attached to them, they still sell in the neighborhood of $100-$150 in good condition. I hope this helps. Charles Gage
