Answer
Hi,
Springfield arms was a trade of Savage/Stevens used on things sold at discount stores. Serial numbers were not required until 1968. You rifle was likely made between 1947 to 1960. Its worth $25 to $100 depending on condition. These rifles were used to teach basic marksmanship. Boy Scout often had them. They often first rifle teenage boy.
