purchasing a handgun

2016/7/22 9:04:29

Question
hey doug, i was thinking of purchasing a handgun for protection and home defense. My job isn't necessarily speaking "safe." So giving advice to a first timer, which handgun would you thinl would be the best for me. Please consider durability, quality and price. Thanks -adam

Answer
Adam,

Personally, I am a big fan of the Glock pistol.  In terms of durability, price and reliability, you won't find a better pistol out there.  If you are a new shooter, I'd probably go with a 9mm.  If you are planning on daily carry or carrying the firearm with you using some other method, the Glock 19 is a good choice since it is the 'mid-size' version of the 9mm Glock.  It is a good size for most people.

Visit a gun store in your area and see if it fits your hand.  If it does, that is the one I'd recommend for most people.

Best regards,

Doug
