Question
Charles,
This is the only thing I find stamped on the barrel:
Springfield Arms Company
Chicopee Falls Mass USA

22LR. Model D

Thanks
Donna

Answer
Hello Donna Holliday.
Your rifle was manufactured during the acquisition of J.Stevens and Page-Lewis by Savage Arms Co. around 1920. It is difficult to determine which company actually manufactured it. The Page-Lewis Co. is credited with the manufacture of the Model D from 1923-1928, but Savage began using the name Springfield Arms Company during the same period. The only identifier I can found is the 20" barrel. The Savage rifle was called the Model 50, with a 24" barrel. Therefore, from what I can find in my research, is that your rifle is the product of Page-Lewis, but sold by Savage Arms Co. with their Springfield Arms Company logo from 1923-1928.
I hope this helps identify your rifle, and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
