Browning T-Bolt (Belgium)

2016/7/22 9:05:37

Question
Jim:

Thanks in advance for your time.  I have just bought a Browning T-Bolt (Belgium) SN: 49955 and am interested in knowing the date of manufacture.  Would rate its condition at 90%.  Rough value estimate would be appreciated as well

P.S. Was also fortunate to find 2 10Rd mags from an estate buyer in NC.

Thanks

Bob in Virginia

Answer
Bob,

I believe the T-Bolts had an X (or another alpha) in the serial number. There will be one or two digits before or after the alpha lettering and the remaining numbers on the opposite. The one or two digit number will tell you the year of manufacture.  They started making them in 1965 going buy memory. 5 X 49955 = 1965  6 X 49955 = 1966 7 X 49955 = 1967 etc. A New in Box original T-Bolt is going to sell for around $600-$750 currently. Hope this helps. You can also go to Brownings website under "service"/Date my firearm for more information.
