NEW BAKER SHOTGUN

2016/7/22 9:05:41

Question
Hello, I have the 1888 Model New Baker 12Ga. Double barrel shotgun with Rabbit ears and Demaskis barrels and I wanted to know how to remove the forarm for disassembly! Also if anyone knows where I can get a stock for it? The old gun is in really nice shape and locks up tight. Can I get shells for this gun? Thanks DW

Answer
Hi,
The hand guard will simply pull down and come off. Damascus steel barrels may may not be safe to shoot. You need to have the condition of barrel and the chamber checked to see how long it is by an local gunsmith. No modern ammo can be used in gun. Most Damascus steel barrels can not be fired safely even with black powder.
Iron is mixed with steel can deteriorate.
