Stevens 22 cal. rifle

2016/7/22 9:09:32

Question
I'm looking this up for a friend. He has a Stevens 22 caliber rifle with a serial number of 123. The only other info he gave me is that it is not a "Crackshot" He wants to find out all he can about this gun, including pricing. He said his grandfather bought it new for $4.00 and that he has had it now for 50 years.

While I am at it, he also wants to know about another rifle he has... a Winchester 94 pre '64 that has a serial number of 878123.
This is the first place I have tried. Possibly you could direct me as to how to get this information.
Thanks in advance

Mike

Answer
Hello Mike. The Winchester 94 was manufactured in 1920. As for the .22 rifle, not being a "Crackshot" is not enough information to go on. For it to be identified, there must be a description including any names ,patent dates and numbers. Does it have an octagonal barrel? Is it a lever-action or a bolt or pump? I am glad I was able to answer one of your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
