unknown type of revolver

Question
my grandfather brought home a five shot revolver from WWII. I would like to displayed it along with the other WWII Items of his, but I have very little info on this gun.  I do know that it is smaller than .38 cal. and the symbol on the side of the cylinder ( A crown with the letter N stamperd under it) refers it back to a proof house from E.German, Suhl and that it was a Nitro Powder Proof. It also has a brass slide on the right side of the barrel, it also has a four inch barrel. That proof mark is the only marking on the gun that I can find, no serial numbers. I have no other information.
I see that you ask for no history questions and I'm not quite sure this is a history question or not. I would like to know any information about this proof house or this gun. I do understand with the information that I gave you might not be very helpful.
 Thanks,
