prop guns

Question
When you shoot a prop gun/one used for T.V. or Movie does it leave GSR on the shooter or the victim?

Answer
Capri,

If the prop gun is shooting blank cartridges, then yes, there will be gun shot residue on the gun and the shooter, primarily their hands and arms.  As far as the victim, it would depend on the range.  Generally speaking, if they are more than 3-4 feet distant from the muzzle of the prop gun, there would be no gun shot residue.  It really doesn't travel very far at all as it escapes the muzzle.

Hope this helps you out...

Regards,

Doug
