Question
I've just purchased a used Taurus Mod #85 38 Cal. revolver.  It will be used for personal protection only.  I've been told to use 38 SPL.+P 125 Gr. JHP hollow point for this gun.  I'm familiar w/guns in general.  Are my choices OK?  Thanks. Ed.

Answer
Yes, that ammo sounds OK.  The Taurus model 85 is rated for .38SPL +P, but since it is used, make sure that the gun is in good condition. If you are not familiar enough to determine its condition, a gun smith can take a quick look at it for you.

Hope this helps!

Dave
