Noble .22 cal rifle

2016/7/22 9:16:43

Question
Doug, saw your answer to Barrie in Apr 08 about Noble rifles.  I have a Noble .22 Model 20G, slingle-shot bolt action with no serial number.  Did Noble not use serial numbers prior to 1968?  I'm sure my rifle is pre-1968--it's been in the family at least that long.  Thanks much.

Answer
Jim,

You won't find too much about the Noble rifles and shotguns as they were a pretty utilitarian firearm and are not considered to be 'collectable'.  They are pretty good shooters though.  If there is no serial number, it was indeed manufactured before 1968.  Nobel didn't start putting serial numbers on their guns until that year.    They were pretty much done as a business in 1971.

Hope this helps you out...

Regards,

Doug
