Essex shotgun

2016/7/22 9:19:34

Question
I have an Essex 12 guage shotgun with a 1905 date on it.  The gun is in good shape.  What would be the estimated value of this shotgun?

Answer
Mark,

The Essex shotgun was actually manufactured by Crescent Davis Firearms Co. for the Belknap Hardware Co. of Louisville, Kentucky.

Since you have not provided me with any model name/number, I cannot provide an accurate value for you. There are over 30 different models that it could be with values ranging from $75 for a single shot up to $700 or $800 (doubles) depending upon the model, version and condition.

If you can provide any additional information I would be glad to attempt to assist you further in your research.

Thanks for the question.
